Downee introduces a new multi-direction fence bracket

April, 2009, Melbourne. Australian fence and gate hardware manufacturer, Downeem has released a new multi-directional fence bracket. The FB38MD bracket allows for vertical adjustment of 15° up or down without having to cut the rail, making fence installation quicker and easier.

Use and Strength

The new FB38MD bracket is designed for 38×25 rails and can be mounted on a post with a minimum dimension of 50×50. The brackets can accommodate 75 kg of static load, with a Factor of Safety of 2. When mounted correctly four brackets can carry a total static weight of 300 kg.

Installation

The unique design allows for vertical adjustment of 15° up or down without having to cut the rail or bracket. In addition to the vertical adjustment, the screw holes on the face of the bracket are set at 8° to allow easy access and minimal interference when driving the tek screws home.

Strength

As the fixing screws are on one side of the bracket only, rails can be installed almost flush to the top of the post. The bracket can turned around, so the bottom of the fence can be as low to the ground as possible. The rounded edges of the bracket make for a smooth transition to the round edges of the post.
