Downee adds Semi Frameless Glass Pool Fence System
October 2009, Melbourne. A clear and elegant Semi Frameless Glass Fence System is now available from Downee, producing visually appealing and unobstructed views of surrounding landscape and pool areas.
Stylish round aluminium posts support pre cut 8mm toughened glass panels, incorporating a pre-drilled matching glass gate if required. Overall fence height is 1260mm, incorporating 1200mm high glass panels. Posts can be powder coated in any colour to match surrounding decor.
The glass fence system is ideal for residential homes, apartments and commercial properties, wherever there is a need to enhance the surrounds and add value to the property.
Posts are supplied in 50mm diameter, round aluminium extrusions, and are available in the following lengths:
- 1260mm Flange Mount (Bolt down application)
- 500mm long or 1800mm long (Core drilled application)
Post types are available in the in a range of configurations to accommodate straight runs, 90 degree corners, 135 degree angles and half post configurations for wall fixing applications.
Toughened 8mm pre-cut glass panels are available in a range of sizes from 816mm wide through to 1416mm wide in 100mm increments. All panels including gate are 1200mm high.
The Downee Glass Pool Fence System complies with the following Australian Standards:
- AS2820-1993 – Gate units for Private Swimming Pools
- AS1926.1-2007 – Swimming Pool Safety – Safety Barriers for Swimming Pools

*When installing fence posts into timber ensure adequate long term structural support is provided. Over time, timber may compress under flange mounted applications, which can lead to loosening of posts. Ensure all fixings are secured into structural or load bearing locations to minimise the effects of compression or excessive movement.
